This is a personal blog from one teacher in the prairies of Canada.
I am a secondary school science teacher embarking on a M.Ed journey. This WordPress is part of the requirements of the coursework – although it is possible, given the research on the power of reflection, that it will continue long after the program is completed.
Why the title? It doesn’t speak to my upbringing, inclinations, or hobbies. It is merely a way to distinguish my geographical isolation from others in my program.
The Neil Young quote? That is specific (I very much enjoy his catalog), and I feel the quote is an apt maxim for how I view my teaching career and future in this field – get better always and leave no opportunity unexplored.
